High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

I can easily defined this restaurant with one word: diarrhea. The food looked like diarrhea, the service was diarrhea, the smell inside of the restaurant was that of diarrhea, and both my wife and I got ... well, you get the jist of it. To elaborate, my carne adovada burrito was strangely watery and it wasn't from the excess grease in which the beans and depressing vegetables and meat were floating in. My wife's carne asada taco looks great as it was packed with beef! And then she took a bite - whoa! The beef was more like beef gum due to the amount of grizzle connected to what is supposed to be lean meat. Also, hers was a a grease bomb. So, both of our meals were pretty difficult to swallow, both literally and figuratively. That aside when we walked in the woman working the front was on a personal phone call for about 10 minutes which gave us ample time to leave but our favorite places (El Parasol and Burrito Co.) were closed b/c it was Sunday. So, if I were you I wouldn't risk the poop party unless you're into that sort of thing.

My fiance and I adore this place. Of course it's fast food and cheap, so you can only expect so much out of it. Since it's a fast food Mexican restaurant, it deserves to be rated amongst places like Taco Bell. Burrito Spot definitely trumps restaurants in this category with its taste, speed, and cost. We usually just either simple bean and cheese burritos or their breakfast burritos with green and red salsas on the side. Of course when we wanted something top notch, we would go to a place like the Pantry. But when we were tired and just wanted something cheap, delicious, and fast, this place cannot be beat.

The night I went here I was a bit skeptical since it was a TCBY amongst a myriad of other failed business ventures. However, my friends kept raving about it. Imagine Baja Tacos before you realized or cared about how totally vile the kitchen was. The Burrito Spot is freaking amazing. It's cheap, it's basically 24 hours unless you are some freak of nature meth addict that gets hungry at 4am (basically the only hour they are closed.) Edit: Obviously this isn't a place you go to over say, La Choza during daylight hours. However, when it's 3am and you want food...it is "as good as it gets." The people that work here are down right morons, but they can serve up a fine plate of rellenos. If you order iced tea, they don't have lemon so don"t bother confusing that poor kid anymore...other than that it's perfection!

Don't go here unless you are desperate. Bad location, bad environment and bad food. The individual who helped us was nice, spoke good English and worked hard but everything else was bad. I honestly wish I had went to Taco Bell instead. I've never singled someone out before for there reviews but I cannot see why Clare D. gave this place 5 stars! This gives me serious doubt about her taste and motive. Be warned if you decide to follow her advice.

Place is fine for what it is - cheap burritos (like $4-ish) in a town that thinks Mexican food should be expensive. it's not outstanding, but will suffice. I recommend the breakfast burritos. Also, the salsa are pretty damn good.

Not the best but not the worst. I had planned to go to Cafe Castro on a recent road trip. Problem being, Cafe Castro was closed, looked like permanently. So, our tired and broke group decided to punt and go to Burrito Spot instead. I had the carnitas burrito. I actually enjoyed the burrito, especially at $5. Don't go here if you are looking for something extravagant but, if you are trying to avoid Taco Bell, McDonalds, and the rest of the big national chains but still need somewhere cheap to eat, hit burrito spot.

Terrible service, terrible food that made me very sick. Not worth the cheap price at all.

I'm giving this place two stars for two reasons. One, they're open at almost all hours. And two, the food is ridiculously inexpensive. With that in mind... The food is barely edible. The staff barely seems to know English, takes their time, and even the iced tea tastes like they never clean the steeping machine. The last (Re: Only) time I walked in this establishment, I ordered a vegi burrito that ended up being mostly lettuce and sour cream!

  • Michael C.

Ready to have your order taken wrong by someone who doesn't speak or read English? I've given this place 2 chances and both times I ran into the same issue. This is authentic Mexican food meaning low grade ingredients and cheese not always being a given like the obviously superior New Mexican cuisine. Do you enjoy a hand full of bell peppers and diced onions in place of green chile and cheese? Well then swing on by for a generous portion of disappointment.

Avoid the chicharron burrito. I had no crispy, juicy morsels as I was expecting yet a few large, spongy strips of chile-soaked fat in the center; I threw them out and ate the beans and chile which were great. Carne Asada was tasty with pico and guac but I suspect the meat may have been microwaved. The drive-thru was busy on a Sunday afternoon. Salsas stand out with flavor. Both colors actually taste like their NM chile namesake. Except for what seemed like shortcuts taken with solid recipie, the place was there for me when I needed it. I'd go back for those salsas if I was in the area.

What do people expect. It is a small business that looks like crap. If you want "real" food go to a "real" restaurant. With that said I think this place is fine. Not great, but not horrible. I have been here many times often having to come here late at night when all other places were closed. I always get the same thing, A letter B breakfast burrito. I think its fine. I will go again when the late night hunger hits me.

This place is really hit or miss, as is Baja Taco. I've had a pretty good little burrito here, nothing fancy, but good, just standard - and I've had a sub par burrito too. It really depends on the luck of the draw. It's the kind of place you go drunk. And hope for the best. I wouldn't rate it below Taco Bell, but it's close. Only go drunk (with designated driver of course) because El Parasol is closed and get it to-go. I don't know why anyone would go to a shack like this in broad daylight.

I had a terrible fish burrito there today. Chewy nuggets of old overcooked fish. At least the staff were friendly...

I got the chicken enchiladas...with a side of E COLI. Spent the night in the hospital. Don't even bother risking what I went through for cheap, quick food.

youve got to be kidding me with this place. its called "BURRITO SPOT" my first burrito in new mexico at a place with burrito in the title sucked. worst burrito i ever had. falling apart, old beans, grey tasteless meat, and nasty salsa... ridiculous

  • Christina J.

For the price and for being a drive-thru, the Burrito Spot delivers outstanding value. The delicious taste of their food has been consistent for the three years we've been (occasionally) stopping there. The only caveat is that there's some component of the recipes which does make me awfully thirsty. Otherwise, it's great ! I recommend "The California". Update I: I don't know why I wrote "occasionally" ~ the fact is we go there at least once a week. Update II: They charge about thirty cents extra if you use a credit card.

I've professed my love for this place many many times. But... You'd think that after spending 12 bucks on a burrito and a quesadilla you'd get a little less flack for asking for one extra salsa. At Roberto's in San Diego, which this place is btw, that meal would cost 8 bucks and no extra flack. Oh. And since I didn't get ANY napkins I'm thinking about suing. There are a LOT of rules here. No extra salsa. No bathrooms. No outside food. No parking. I used to LOVE this place. And the owner was friendly. And his wife. I think they should have just stayed in the one location. Now there are 3 and quality has suffered. I think I won't bus my table.

  • Manu R.

Staff is usually and consistently rude and crappy but the burritos are delicious and cheap, especially for Santa Fe prices. I like the California burrito, which is what I order most of the time, but everything I've tried there is tasty and well prepared.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
